DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) is a solution, which increases the security of DNS.
DNSSEC introduces to DNS a cryptographic mechanism of asymmetric keys, which allow to authenticate the data received in the process of resolving internet domain names to IP addresses.
We kindly inform that NASK began to institute DNSSEC on the .pl Registry production server. On 20th of December NASK released the .pl domain and other domains serviced by NASK (like .com.pl, waw.pl, .net.pl) in DNSSEC secured form. On the 9th of February 2012 IANA published in root-zone a shortcut from the key that signs the .pl zone. This means protection of our national domain by DNSSEC protocol and completion of another stage of implementing this solution by NASK in Poland.
Last stage of the institution will be to make it possible to secure names registered in the .pl domain. NASK plans to do it on the 4th of June 2012.
After the institution of DNSSEC is complete, it will be possible to verify the authenticity and integrity of responses, received from name servers which are secured by this protocol.
